“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace” - Sir Chimhoy Ghose.
Every now and then a friend of mine from the other side of the world sends me a link of an item that moved him or her, that link sparked something with in them and they choose to take the time and spread their thought and emotions regarding that event. I decide to take my precious time and embark on an adventure which will connect us to a higher meaning of relationships. This bonds us and make us wonder about how souls connect and interact.
Today a dear friend took the time to send me a link to an on-line powerful documentary about the interlinks between Christianity, 911, education, media, The Federal Reserve and much much more. the movie titled ’Zeitgeist - the spirit of time’ and it’s a document which was first aired on Google video on December 2007 and already won The best documentary award in the Artivist film festival in Hollywood 2007.

Recently, the marketing geniuses over at Cardo Systems admitted to fabricating the videos on YouTube that showed people from around the world popping popcorn by surrounding the kernels with their cell phones. These videos were some of the most popular around the Internet and spawned a whole series of new videos, in which people tried to repeat the experiment. On their Web site, Cardo Systems boasts that it attracted 16 million viewers in 4 weeks. But what does this do for their brand?
Some PR guys may tell you that any media attention is better than none at all. But how can this PR stunt boost one’s confidence in this little known company? If Cardo Systems will spend the time and money to..................

Microblogging - so much easier and shorter and I don't have to think so hard on it.
Facebook - now you know who I really am. Cover blown.
Reading blogs for work.
Reading blogs for play.
...though it can be a fine line.
And many other things.
Oh, and I've started a project on Australia's national women's sport teams. Because it's about bloody time someone did.
I may or may not be back.
Goofing off happens. Whether it’s an overworked accounting department taking time off to participate in a “Finer Things Club” like the hilarious employees on The Office or a marketing meeting devolving into all-out Nerf gun warfare or taking a smoke break to blow off a little steam - everybody does it. It’s healthy! Well, except the smoking. Like physical exercise, mental strain from focusing for long periods of time takes a toll on the human brain and, without a break, mistakes happen. But in an age where productivity is king, where cutthroat competition drives companies to seek time-saving innovations from practically any avenue, the practice of goofing off is often frowned upon. The more a company attempts to control the time of their employees, the more the employees will take their goofing off underground…which can quickly sink morale. What if you could channel the energy employees use for goofing off into something that could increase your search rankings?
You can.................

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
An unusual and notable event occurs today at Carnegie Mellon University. The entire Federal Communications Commission appears at 4 p.m. at the Pittsburgh university known for film, media and new media studies to hear opinions on the Internet’s future. As a former Washington correspondent, I can attest to how very rare it is for all five FCC members to appear together outside Washington. Expect arguments for universal access, ensuring a choice of providers, protecting free speech and establishing a free market.
Speakers will include small businesses, bloggers...............

Thank you tulrich for blogging (and creating ?) the Google Earth FireFox Plug-in and the Google Earth Monster Milk Float Game !
You can write Google Earth Plug-in apps using Javascript, including game-like things. It's pretty fun. It also integrates smoothly with Google Maps API sites; basically you just enable 3D, and most things will magically work.

PS Currently (08 Jun 08 at 2:22 PM) there are only 31 del.icio.us social media linkers !
I expect there are more NOW !

Web 2.0 (or whatever the fullness of the Internet Operating System ends up being called) is far bigger than search. Yes, search is currently the most valuable and monetizable Web 2.0 application--or perhaps better-named, subsystem. But look back at 1984: Lotus was bigger and more valuable than Microsoft ($153 million in revenues to Microsoft's $100 million, and growing faster -- Lotus had tripled in size, while Microsoft had only doubled.) But we now know that Microsoft had the stronger position.
As I've said in my Web 2.0 talks from the very
beginning, a platform beats an application every time.
...
True search innovation will come from something that doesn't look like search. Google's video search efforts foundered, while YouTube took off. (Google was smart enough to buy YouTube quickly.) Facebook took off in an area that could be characterized as "people search." Tweetspace is becoming a hidden transmission channel for information, one that Google doesn't yet search. Everything Microsoft (and other explicit search competitors, including most specialized search startups) is incremental innovation.
Google's search dominance will be toppled by a disruptive innovation that changes the game, not by playing catch-up at the same game.
The challenges that keep Google on
their toes, innovating in search, will come from outside the current
system.
I think Tim O'Reilly puts this much more clearly than I have been trying to for the last two years !
